ASHTON WEDS. BLUE (1) –V- BUSH HILL RANGERS (14)

This was the first of two games to be played on the same day, and once again we came up against a team at the bottom of the league who clearly just enjoy playing football.  In my mind the result of this game was never in doubt and it was a matter of making sure the boys stayed disciplined and focused for this game and for the game that we were playing an hour later.

The game kicked off and Alex put us 1-0 up after a minute. He quickly made it 2-0 after four minutes. Our midfield was clearly in control, with Ali orchestrating all our attacks with his passing ability and vision and after 8 minutes Jamel made it 3-0. Two minutes later Baris made it 4-0. It was difficult to see how Ashton Wednesday were to enjoy this game, as our domination was beginning to get embarrassing and a couple of minutes later Andrew made it 5-0. Alex got his hat-trick after 17 minutes and Kielan made it 7 after 21 minutes, before Ali got on the score sheet after 25 minutes, not long after he had had the miss of the season somehow firing over the crossbar from half a foot out!  Then just before half time Tony made it 9-0.

At half time I made four changes with the second game in mind but it didn’t take us long for Danny to make it 10-0 and after 37 minutes after some more good work by Ali we were awarded a penalty when Rishi picked himself up and scored to make it 11-0. Tony got his second for 12-0, Eliot then made it 13-0, with Robin finishing the scoring for us to make it 14-0.  Ashton were awarded a penalty with literally seconds to go and the game finished 14-1.

Today’s Man Of The Match – Ali – if you give someone with his ability the time and space he will punish you and he did!
