BHR Vs Ashton Weds

BHR  16 Vs ASHTON WEDS BLUE 0

28/11/04

My main concern for today’s game was that they boys would not stay disciplined and would drift out of position. It was obvious by looking at the league position of Ashton Weds Blue, that they were a team struggling in this league, and I am not a great believer in running up a cricket score against such teams as little is learnt by both sides.  However, you can only beat what’s put in front of you and we had a job to do, as my closest rivals had all scored over ten goals against this team, and I felt that I had to do the same as goal difference may play a part in our position at the end of the season.

As soon as the game started, Ashton Weds were under constant pressure, and the goals started to flow for us.  Once we had achieved our target as far as goal difference was concerned, I made some major changes to our line up, with our defence playing upfront, including Taylan at one point and our strikers playing out of position at the back.  We continued to score and with six or seven minutes remaining, I played the game with eight boys.  Goal scorers were as follows:

Tony 2, 44 mins, Eliot 5 mins, Ali 9 mins, Rishi 19, 31, 51 mins, Tommy 20 mins, Alex 35 mins, Reece 39 mins, Jamel 45 mins, Kielan 47 mins, Baris 52 mins, Taylan 55 mins, George 57 mins and Adem 60 mins.

Well done to all the boys, who worked hard and enjoyed themselves today.

Today’s Man Of The Match:  James for remaining disciplined and in position.
