BHR Vs Junior Hammers

BHR –V- JUNIOR HAMMERS

0  - 3 /    7/11/04

This was one of the fixtures that I was looking forward to this season because every time we played Hammers last season we improved, especially the last game, when Hammers were very lucky to come away with a win, after the best performance by our boys all season.

However, today’s game was a huge disappointment, the Hammers defence won everything in the air and their midfield out-passed us, and we only put up a half-hearted fight in defence.  Overall, we were poor. We stood off of them and watched them play.  There was no communication, and no spirit, and we were lucky to go in at half-time only 1-0 down.

The second half started and continued the same.  Clearly we must learn to put into practice the hard work we do in training, with regards to passing and working as a team.  We did not play the way we were facing, and we did not keep it simple, everybody was playing as an individual and not part of a team. We conceded two more goals in the second half, final score 3-0 to the Hammers.  I will put this down as a ‘bad day at the office’ guys, and forget about it, because I know we are better than that, and I believe this was just a one-off. Boys, you must believe in your ability to play football, because we can!

Today’s Man Of The Match:  Tommy.
