INTERWOOD –V- BUSH HILL RANGERS

This was our last league game of the season, and we were up against a very well organised team who are quite physical.  The boys knew what they would be up against. I decided to try a new formation today.

As the game started Interwood settled the quicker and created a chance early on which was well saved by Taylan. The game was fast, furious and physical and I believe the boys struggled with the new system as we conceded two early goals. As the first half went on, Interwood were up to their old tricks with their diving and foul mouths!  I think this time the boys let it get to them. 

At half time I asked the boys if we should just give up and go home as all their heads were down – but I was given a positive response. Unfortunately we conceded a very early goal in the second half, I then decided to go back to our usual formation of  ‘4-4-2’.  But I think that the stuffing had been knocked out of us by then. Interwood were winning most of the battles all over the park, and it was a matter of time before they added more goals. Final score 8-0 to Interwood.  This was our heaviest defeat of the season – a ‘very bad day at the office’.

These things happen in football and I really believe in the boys, and they know that they are better than that performance. Next time we won’t let the thugs kick us off the pitch – and I hope our football will shine through!
