CHADWELL HEATH –v- BUSH HILL RANGERS

0                                      4

  • As the game kicked off it was clear that both teams were up for it.  Tackles were flying in and chances were being created.  The Bush Hill defence needed to be focused and determined from early on.  After about ten minutes, after some good passing, the Bush Hill boys carved out a chance for Kash to make it 1-0. Chadwell responded immediately with an early ball to their striker, but James stood firm and the chance went.  The first half was end –to-end, with both keepers being called upon. Bush Hill continued to move the ball well and we were growing in confidence as we saw how strong and determined our defence were.  Just before half time Chadwell once again were bearing down on our goal, however, a combination of Paul and James soon slammed the door shut. Bush Hill quickly moved the ball from back to front, and Mohamed was unlucky not to add our second.  Then straight from their goal kick, the ball fell to Nazeem who powered it past their keeper, 2-0 to Bush Hill.
  • At half time the boys knew that they were in a battle and for the first time in a long time we were being tested all over the field. I told the boys to continue to play ‘our game’ and the result would look after itself.

As the second half kicked off, Bush Hill were straight on the attack, and would have scored early on if it wasn’t for a good save by their keeper.  Chadwell refused to lie down and continued to press forward and once again the powerful figure of James soon cleaned up any danger.  Both sets of boys were giving as good as they were getting and for a little while the game got a bit scrappy with free kicks being awarded to either side.  Midway through the second half after Mohamed had hit the post with a good effort, the ball fell to Nazeem who made it 3-0. Chadwell bounced straight back with their striker who found himself on a one-on-one with Brandon, who came charging out of his goal to smother the ball, showing great bravery putting his head where boots were flying.  Then after running half the length of the pitch Mohamed made it 4-0.  With seconds to go Chadwell were awarded a corner, the ball was floated in right on top of our keeper, Brandon leapt up like a salmon and grabbed the ball and the danger was over.  Final score 4-0 to Bush Hill.

Today’s Man Of the Match – Question: What do you get if you mix: Focus, Power, Pace, Strength and Determination?     Answer: Mr Iceman - James.
