UNDER 9’s  – 11/12/05

ALDERSBROOK –V –BUSH HILL RANGERS

Today were up against a well organised team lying second in the league. As the game kicked off Aldersbrook had the first attack and Brandon showed that he was awake and made a good save. Bush Hill settled and we began to move the ball nicely and after a good pass Mohamed was unlucky not to open the scoring. Bush Hill continued to press and it wasn’t long before Nazeem scored to make it 1-0 after some good wing play by Halil. The pressure continued to mount on Aldersbrook’s goal and this time it was Halil that was unlucky not to score after he unleashed a fierce shot that came back off the crossbar into their keeper’s hands. Our passing and movement was causing them trouble and just before half time Nazeem was denied once again.

At half time I urged the boys to keep working hard, the pitch was heavy, the opposition were organised, but I told them to believe that we were the better team.

As the second half kicked off Bush Hill were straight on the attack and Mohamed made it 2-0. Aldersbrook responded immediately, their strikers combined well and as Brandon rushed out to save, they scored 2-1. Bush Hill continued to move the ball well and Tarik on his debut today, was unlucky not to add another goal. The game got stretched as both teams were going for the win. With five minutes to go, once again Brandon was called upon with a great double save.  Bush Hill responded and this time it was Kieran unlucky not to score.  Both sides were working hard and creating chances, with literally seconds to go Aldersbrook had one last chance, but Brandon refused to be beaten and even after a heavy challenge on him, he still jumped on the ball and would not let go until the Ref awarded us a free kick.  Final score 2-1 to Bush Hill.

Today’s Man Of The Match – Brandon “The Brave” keeps getting better and better.
