BUSH HILL RANGERS –v- FREESTYLE

Today was the last league game of the season.  I told the boys to go out and enjoy their game today but at the same time I reminded them that they needed to continue to play our football, to move the ball and to work as a team.

As the game kicked off it wasn’t long before the boys began to show the commitment and the quality that they possess. Our football was flowing and our attitude was spot on. Chances were being created with a few players having shots at the Freestyle goal, but it took another great strike by today’s Captain Mohamed, to make it 1-0 to Bush Hill.  Freestyle responded and on a couple of occasions they threatened our goal, but each time they came up against a strong and determined defensive unit.  With the amount of chances we were creating we should have added to our score in the first half but somehow Freestyle kept us out.

At half time I made a few changes and told the boys to carry on, as I was pleased with the way they were playing.

The second half kicked off and it wasn’t long before the Bush Hill boys once again took control of the game.  The passing, the movement, the passion was all there to be seen.  The chances continued to come thick and fast and it wasn’t long before Kash made it 2-0. Soon after he added another making it 3-0. At times, the Freestyle boys were chasing shadows, just before the final whistle after a great run; Nazeem completed the scoring 4-0 to Bush Hill, final score.

After the game, we all celebrated Bush Hill were Champions in their first season!  I told the boys how proud I was. Every time they have stepped onto the pitch, no matter who we were playing, they showed great belief and commitment. They have bonded as a team in a very short space of time.  They also know that they are Champions not only because of what they do on a match day, but because of all the hard work they do in training.  They have all come a long way from the little shy boys that turned up in the summer for trials to the worthy Champions that they are!  Well Done To All My Boys!
