BUSH HILL RANGERS Vs Woodford Green

Our first game of the season against a new team in the league. Looking at the opposition before kick-off I thought this would be a physical game as they looked big and aggressive!

Bush Hill kicked off and we soon showed our intentions with a long range effort by Ali going just wide.  Woodford were under constant pressure as our passing and movement was a joy to watch! We were creating chances at will, with Alex coming close on ten minutes, and again with Kevin a few minutes later.  Tommy stepped up the pressure with a shot that I thought was going in. We were bombarding their goal with Rishi, Kevin and Alex all coming close.  Then after twenty-five minutes my decision to play Rishi left wing, paid off, with a great run he cut inside and finished low and hard to make it 1-0!  Our chances continued and their goalkeeper and defence looked shell shocked, but we could only manage one more goal before half time from Alex.

At half time I told the boys to relax and be patient! as we were creating chance after chance.

The second half started as the first finished with Bush Hill well in control and after ten minutes with Woodford Green camped in their own penalty area, Adem’s long range effort found the top corner to make it 3-0.  I made four changes at half time and soon after coming on, Robin made it 4-0. With his pace, Rodney, was terrorising their defence and was soon rewarded with a goal to make it 5-0.  Then Tashan showed great persistence making it 6-0, after closing down their defence and driving towards goal, scored from a tight angle. Soon after, Kevin was rewarded for his hard work, to make it 7-0.  With minutes to go, Raphael latched onto a pass, and finished off the scoring 8-0.

A good start to the season, with all the new faces on the scoresheet!  First half, we outpassed them, second half, we terrorised them with our pace! Well Done Boys!
