Today we were up against our closest rivals and the team that had only lost once so far this season. Before kick off I reminded the boys that we had to be focused and totally committed to everything we did today to have a chance of winning.  As the game kicked off it was clear that this was to be a scrappy affair as the pitch was very muddy and heavily cut up. For the first five minuets or so, neither side were dominating, as both teams kept giving possession away. Then, after we managed to get the ball wide, Danny opened the scoring to make it 1-0 from a tight angle.  The celebrations were loud from the boys and the supporters.  This goal was our hundredth goal scored this season, but more importantly Chadwell were now playing catch up. Their reply was immediate and straight from the restart Taylan was called upon and he made two great saves to deny them.  Both teams despite the heavy conditions, were trying to play football.  After some good work in midfield, Rishi crossed for Alex to make it 2-0. The Bush Hill boys were on the charge and it wasn’t long before Tashan added our third 3-0 to Bush Hill. Chadwell’s heads didn’t drop and just before half time after a scramble in our penalty area they managed to force the ball home, 3-1 to Bush Hill at half time.

At half time the boys walked off covered in mud and looking like they had been in a battle, I urged them to dig deep and to carry on doing what we were doing.

As the second half kicked off Chadwell were straight on the attack, and once again a brave Taylan with the help of his mates in defence, cleared the danger. Bush Hill quickly got the ball to Tashan’s feet, who showed great pace to turn and shoot, 4-1 to Bush Hill. Chadwell would not lie down, and after a mix up in our own area, with the heavy pitch playing a major part, they scored 4-2 to Bush Hill.  Straight from the kick off Bush Hill lost possession and Chadwell scored again 4-3, game on.  From somewhere somehow, both sets of players needed to find that something extra.  The response from Bush Hill was awesome, suddenly we were quicker, stronger and hungrier. Tashan’s pace was too much for them, he scored two more goals within minutes to make it 6-3, then Robin made it 7-3, Bush Hill were back in control and Chadwell finished off the scoring in the dying seconds, final score 7-4.

Today’s Man Of The Match – Bush Hill Rangers Under 13’s Squad –

 “No Battle - No Glory”.   The boys showed today the true meaning of our Motto.
