UNDER 13’s – 09/10/05

WILLIAM FITT–v- BUSH HILL

Before today’s kick off I reminded the boys that my “in” word at the moment is ‘focus’, as I believewe are playing some great football right now, but we must remain focused at all times.  With my words ringing in their ears, the boys took to the field and within minutes we were once again creating chances, with both Tashan and Jamel coming close, followed shortly by Danny who was very unlucky not to score! Moments later, Alex showed the way and made it 1-0 to Bush Hill! We were well on top as William Fitt struggled to clear their area.  Our pressure soon paid off again with Alex adding another two quick goals to make it 3-0!  William Fitt still had some fight in them and our midfield had to dig in at times. On the odd occasion that they threatened our goal, a commanding Baris soon cleared up any chance with some powerful and aggressive work! We were moving the ball well and our wingers were creating chances. After missing a few chances Tashan was rewarded with a goal, to make it 4-0 at half time.

At half time I pointed out to the boys that although I was happy with our general play we started to drift out of position and that we needed to focus on a clean sheet as well!  I explained that the first half was won, and that I wanted to win the second half without conceding! 

I made four changes in the second half, and we continued to create and play our football.  It was good to see that although there was a change in personnel the system was still working.  Even though we were still creating chances and were well on top William Fittseemed more determined not to concede, and if it wasn’t for some great defending by their goal posts, which we struck at least four times! We would have added to our score, however the game finished 4-0 to Bush Hill.

I was pleased that we kept our discipline and never lost our creative effort!  Well Done Boys!
