SELWYN -v- BUSH HILL RANGERS UNDER 13’s - 6/11/05 SELWYN –v- BUSH HILL RANGERS 0 9 Today we were up against a team who are finding it hard in this league. Before kick off I once again told the boys that focus and concentration would be the order of the day, as I am sure that if we played our football, the goals and the result would be ours. Within a few minutes, Alex had our first shot, quickly followed by Tashan. The weather wasn’t ideal today, as a swirling wind was causing everybody problems. After fifteen minutes Rishi had a shot that was saved by their keeper. I felt that our boys were getting a bit frustrated, but then Alex stepped up to make it 1-0. A few minutes later, after some good work by Danny, another chance goes begging, and the frustration was clear to see, Jamel and Baris kept urging the boys to calm down and play our game. It wasn’t long before some more good work by Danny, who crossed for Rishi to head home 2-0. The chances were coming thick and fast, including a great effort by Ali from the edge of their box. Just before half time Jamel decided to take matters into his own hands and after a good run made it 3-0. At half time I told the boys how unhappy I was in the lack of teamwork. I also told them to listen to their Captains, and calm down. After a couple of changes, the second half kicked off. After yet another good run by Danny, he scored to make it 4-0. At last we started to play some football, and on a few occasions we were moving the ball around really well. Tashan and Danny were involved in a good passing move which ended with Tashan scoring, 5-0, then Alex showed good strength to make it 6-0. Danny and Tashan combined again for Tashan to make it 7-0. Tashan got his hat-trick after some good work this time by Raphael, 8-0. The scoring was finished off by Baris, final score 9-0 to Bush Hill! Well Done Boys, difficult conditions, must remember to continue to play our football, no matter who the opposition are. Today’s Man Of The Match – Danny – Team Player.
